Job Title: Summer 2024 Paddle Sports & Shop Attendant at Mad River Paddle Co.

Location: Calabogie, Ontario (1 hour west of Ottawa)
​
Employment Term: Mid-May to September (full-time and part-time positions available)
​
Eligibility: Individuals between 18-30 years of age, eligible to work in Canada, driver’s license and reliable transportation.
​
Wage: $16.55 to start
​
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team at a small kayak, paddle board, and canoe sales and rental location in Calabogie, Ontario. As a Summer Paddle Sports Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience on the water.
Responsibilities:

Manage the small shop that sells paddling equipment, sunglasses, and clothing

Working in the shop can also include selling drinks, snacks and serving ice cream

Willingness to learn about equipment to sell (kayaks, canoes, paddleboards)

Sign guests in, get them on and off the water, and process payments
-
Clean and maintain equipment, including kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes
-
Clean and maintain storefront and grounds
-
Teach paddle lessons to individuals and groups
-
Ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests
Requirements:

Passion for paddle sports and outdoor recreation
-
Excellent customer service skills
-
Ability to teach and explain paddling techniques and safety guidelines
-
Very physical position - must be able to lift and stack equipment. (50lbs)

Bonus: Driver’s license

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills

Standard first aid (or willingness to get it)
